A Sponsored Cycle in Beautiful Devon

Long-time supporter of Advantage Africa Nicola Rumsey is celebrating her 50th birthday on 2nd May 2015. Nicola is warmly inviting 50 of her family and friends to mark the occasion by cycling up to 50 miles with her to raise funds for Advantage Africa.

The ride will start from Exeter Quay (above), where bike hire is available, and continue on cycle paths to the stunning Budleigh Salterton Beach (below) for homemade cakes and drinks. From here you can return the same way, catch the train back or follow the route that Nicola’s planned for the full 50 miles. There are options to suit everyone’s abilities!

It’s going to be a fun day with lots of laughs, cake and friendship and a party in the evening. It’s also an opportunity to help people affected by poverty, disability and HIV to improve their education, health and incomes through the work of Advantage Africa.

Advantage Africa is a small charity making a big difference and its founders, Nicola’s friends Andrew and Jane Betts, say: ‘What a brilliant idea! Through this ride we can together help many vulnerable people in East Africa build a better future’.

Follow the process and you’ll find lots of useful tools and tips but the main things are to set a target and keep things clear, brief and personal with your own message and photograph. Then get sharing the link to your page as widely as possible through email, Facebook and whatever other means you can!
