Would you like to put together a team of friends (6-10 people) taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise funds for Advantage Africa’s life-changing work in Kenya and Uganda? Our two previous challenges have provided an amazing weekend of hiking, scenery, friendship and fundraising, and we could put on another one just for you! And if you have fewer people, we can link you with an open challenge provider so you can join a safe, supported group with others fundraising for their preferred charities.

This famous walk involves reaching the summits of Whernside (2,415 ft), Ingleborough (2,372 ft) and Pen-y-ghent (2,277 ft), collectively known as the Three Peaks. The mountains, which form part of the Pennine range, encircle the heads of the valleys of the River Ribble and of Chapel-le-Dale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Three Peaks Walk, first achieved in 1887, covers a distance of 26 miles with over 5,000 ft of ascent and descent. The route takes in some of the UK’s most stunning and historic scenery, including the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct where we will start and finish our trek.

The Challenge begins with a briefing on the Friday evening and the hike commences at 6.30am on Saturday morning. The fee of approx £140 (tbc) covers Friday and Saturday nights’ bunkhouse accommodation, Friday supper, Saturday breakfast, packed lunch, snacks and supper, Sunday breakfast, and guides’ expenses so that all funds raised go directly to Advantage Africa. We request you aim to raise at least £500 in sponsorship for Advantage Africa.

It will be strenuous but fun and you can expect to make new friends while on the hike. Our intention to safely complete the Challenge as a team will override our goal of completing the walk within 12 hours.

The hike will be done with a qualified Mountain Leader and all participants will be required to fill in a simple application form. To discuss arranging a hike please call us on 01234 711005.

Too hard? Not hard enough? Then why not look at the Ultra Challenge Series?

Got your own idea? We look forward to hearing all about it!
